Research Application Cycle Announcements and Application Process

There are currently two research application cycles a year, one in the Fall and the other in the Spring.

The research applications are reviewed by a Scientific Review Committee [SRC] composed of senior, established investigators who have performed scientific research and published their findings in the areas of healing energy and healing intention. The composition of the SRC is determined by the nature of the research applications proposed during each review cycle. An attempt is made to identify experts in the same area of science as the investigator submitting the research application. At the current time, over 30 individuals have served on the SRC.   The formal research application is due and sent to the SRC one month prior to a scheduled meeting. SIIB has three different application forms available for an investigator seeking support of research:

The Review Process

The review of funding applications is performed by the Scientific Review Committee [SRC] or by ad hoc reviewers.  The formed is convened twice a year, and the latter is solicited at other times of the year.  The members of the SRC vary from meeting to meeting as they are selected based on their areas of scientific competence relative to the research submitted by investigators in that cycle.  The reviewers are asked to complete a 12 question Critique form.  The resulting recommendations are collated by SIIB and presented as recommendations to the Board of Directors for their approval or disapproval for funding.

Principal Investigator Reporting

The principal investigator is required to provide written documentation of the progress of the funded research on a semi-annual and annual basis.  There are two forms designed to facilitate this process:
