The Center for Health Information Technology and Data Management (CHITDM) plays a pivotal role in the design management and analysis statistical expertise, and logistical services required in the conduct of clinical trials. In support of the activities of Samueli Institute, the data management center: 

  1. collaborates in the development, implementation and monitoring of common site protocols; 
  2. provision of data management, including preparation of data and safety reports for  data monitoring and preparation of data reports for  study investigators, centers and public data files and manuscripts for publication; 
  3. collaborates in the analysis of data and publication of results of the  trials and studies; 
  4. provides services for acquisition equipment and supplies, and analysis of all data needed for the conduct of studies; and 
  5. provides the  logistical support necessary to running an efficient and productive research site.   

CHITDM has a state of the art conference facility, with conferencing center and video teleconferencing capabilities to support geographically disbursed research sites and investigators. CHITDM staff are experienced with both FDA’s Investigational New Drug (IND) Application procedures and the Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) procedures. The Center works closely with researchers and Institute supported investigators providing resources and expertise using a robust communication and web based electronic data capture capabilities that allow for the secure, efficient and timely management research projects and studies.
