| Grant cycle announcements and application process
|
| There are currently two grant cycles a year, one in September and the other in February.
The
grants are reviewed by a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) composed
of senior, established investigators who have performed scientific research
and published their findings in the areas of healing energy and healing
intention. The composition of the SAC is determined by the nature of the
grant applications proposed during each review cycle. An attempt is made to
identify experts in the same area of science as the investigator submitting
the grant application. At the current time, 23 individuals have served on
the SAC. The next SAC meeting is 21
March 2003. The formal grant application is due and sent to the SAC one month prior to the meeting. SIIB has three application forms available for an investigator seeking support of research.
|
| 1. |
Preliminary Application form. This form requests information that will allow SIIB staff to determine if a more detailed and complete application is appropriate. This will help determine if the potential study is within the focus and direction of SIIBs current funding priorities.
|
|
|
| 2. |
Grant
Application form. This the form that is used once SIIB staff has approved the projected research plan of the potential principal investigator. It is expected that a draft of this application will be sent to SIIB staff at least a month before the deadline for the final draft is due. This will allow an exchange of thoughts and ideas between the two parties to better ensure that the work is compatible with the mission of SIIB and more likely to receive approval by the SAC.
|
|
|
| 3. |
Grant Renewal Application form. Funded grants are required to go through a
formal SAC review process for sequential renewals. This form is used by the Principal Investigator for that purpose.
