Lea Xenakis, MPA, is a consultant at Samueli Institute. Xenakis first joined the Institute in September 2009 as an intern for the Military Medical Research Department and then became a Research Associate. Since 2009, she has participated in over 15 program evaluations, systematic reviews and needs assessments. She provides support for the Military Medical Research Department by writing protocols, initiatives, and quarterly/annual reports, interfacing with military, VA, and civilian research partners, and funding organizations and managing project tasks and deliverables. She has developed and prepared standard operating procedures, and institutional review board submission packages, including program evaluation tools, consent forms and data collection instruments. She has lead over 80 focus groups or individual interviews and analyzed over 200 interviews.

Xenakis received a Masters in Public Administration with a specialization in Health Policy Analysis from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service. Her program allowed her to hone invaluable evaluation, research, policy analysis, and management skills. The intensive program required drawing on knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines to help define, critically assess and resolves a broad spectrum of public health problems and issues.
