Research Manager

Courtney (Lee) Boyd, MA, is a Research Manager in the Military Medical Research Program and Review Manager in the Systematic Review Division at Samueli Institute. Since joining the Institute in 2010, she has been responsible for supporting both the Institute’s educational and military initiatives. She has assisted in the conduct, data collection and analysis of program evaluations and clinical trials at various military sites including Tripler, Fort Carson, Fort Hood, Camp Lejeune, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

As a Review Manager, Boyd has expertise in literature searching, systematic review and meta-analysis methodologies. She contributes to the enhancement of these processes and teaches educational curriculum, including systematic review and evidence-based quality assessment methods, to both internal staff and outside clients. She has co-authored several presentations and peer-reviewed publications, including systematic reviews, journal articles and book chapters, on both integrative medicine and cognitive aging topics such as military performance, stress, trauma, pain, self-efficacy and memory.

Boyd received her MA in Developmental Psychology, concentrating in Adult Development and Aging, and BS in Psychology, with a minor in Biology and Studio Art from the University of Richmond.
