The Samueli Institute is located in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia across from the King Street Metro Station.  We are conveniently located near Ronald Reagan National Airport (3 miles) and Dulles International Airport (35 miles). 

From Washington, DC and Maryland: Take the George Washington Parkway south past National Airport into Old Town Alexandria.  The Parkway becomes Washington Street.  Turn RIGHT on to King Street.  Proceed about 10 blocks and our building is on the RIGHT just before the Hilton Hotel at 1737 King Street.  Enter the Hotel parking garage and park in the GREEN section.  Enter our building through the elevator to the 6th floor.

From the North (New York/Baltimore): Take I-95 South across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Immediately after the bridge, take exit 177B /Telegraph Road North/Alexandria.  Follow signs to 236East/Duke Street/Alexandria Downtown and exit right on to Duke Street. Turn LEFT on to Callahan Drive in front of the Masonic Memorial.  Turn Right onto King Street.  Go approximately a 3 blocks on King Street and then turn LEFT into the Hilton Hotel parking garage.  Enter our building through the elevator in the GREEN section of the parking garage.

From the South (Richmond): Follow I-95 North to I-395 towards Washington DC. Take exit 5 (King Street East).  Our building will be approximately 4 miles down King Street on the left after the King Street metro station on the right and the Hilton Hotel on the left.  Turn left into the Hilton Hotel parking garage.  Enter our building through the elevator in the GREEN section of the parking garage.

From the East: Take US-50 West  to the Capital Beltway (495 South/I-95 South) and across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Take exit 177B/Telegraph Road North/Alexandria.  Follow signs to 236East/Duke Street/Alexandria Downtown and exit right on to Duke Street. Turn Left on Callahan Drive in front of the Masonic Memorial. Turn RIGHT onto King Street.  Go approximately 3 blocks on King Street and then turn LEFT into the Hilton Hotel parking garage.  Enter our building through the elevator in the GREEN section of the parking garage.

From the West: Take I-66 East to the Capital Beltway (495 East which becomes 495 East/I-95 North). Stay on the Capital Beltway to Exit 176B (Telegraph Road North). Follow signs to 236 East Downtown/Alexandria.  Stay to the right to go onto Duke Street (236 East).  Turn LEFT on to Callahan Drive in front of the Masonic Memorial.  Turn RIGHT on to King Street.  Go approximately 3 blocks on King Street.  Our building will be on the left after the King Street metro station on the right and the Hilton Hotel on the left.  Turn left into the Hilton Hotel parking garage.  Enter our building through the elevator in the GREEN section of the parking garage.

By Metro:  Take a Blue or Yellow line train to the King Street Metro Station.  Exit on the Daingerfield Road side of the station.  Cross Diagonal Road, go across King Street to the brick building next to the Hilton Hotel and enter our building at 1737 King Street.

Visitor Parking: Enter the parking garage through the Hilton Hotel entrance. You can park in either the Hilton spots or the green KSMP un-reserved spots.  Take the elevator in the GREEN section to the 6^th floor.

To leave the garage, follow the signs that states “All traffic EXIT straight ahead.”  You will exit on Cameron Street, and then turn LEFT to get to King Street.
